In late 2019 Rusty Quill ran a writing competition for light-hearted scenes from life at The Magnus Institute and the Archives. Epiphany was written by Jack Beckwith and is one of the winning entries. It takes place in the latter half of Season 1.

Epiphany was originally released as a Patreon bonus on February 14, 2020 and Rusty Quill considers the Patreon bonus material to not be strictly canonical but a form of pseudo-canon.[1]

Recording[]

Martin is recording a poem when Tim enters the room without knocking. He asks Martin how he is sleeping in the Archives and brought him change of sheets, but then asks him if there's anything on his mind. Martin rambles that he is homesick and thinking of seeing his mother, but Tim interrupts and asks if he has a crush on anyone. He tries to guess who Martin's crush is (his guesses are Rosie, David and Hannah), before realising that Martin likes someone in the Archives (guessing Sasha). Martin, embarrassed, begs him to go and he leaves after advising Martin to take care of himself and avoid being too selfless, for which Martin thanks him and says he will think about it. Martin resumes recording when he (again) gets interrupted by Tim entering, who asks if he is Martin's crush, and says that the "dance card's open." Martin asks him to leave.

Martin continues to read his poem but is interrupted when John enters the room. He asks Martin to track down Marcus MacKenzie for a followup regarding his father's statement, which he says he is concerned about, despite his scepticism. He expresses worry about Martin, who insists that he is fine, and then tells him to get back to work.
