Manuela Dominguez is an avatar of the Dark and a high ranking member of The People's Church of the Divine Host. She studied dark matter and dark energy and used it to create the Dark Sun.
History[]
Manuela came from a religious family, her parents fearing the "unnatural". Her parents' resistance to her pursuit of science eventually leads to her breaking contact with them.
While studying dark matter, she met Maxwell Rayner, who introduced her to the Dark, leading to their working together in The People's Church of the Divine Host. Manuela was tasked to create a black star for worship. Her work was completed in 2007, during her time on-board the Daedalus, and she created the Dark Sun.
In July 2014, she gave a statement about her work to Gertrude Robinson as a threat to Elias Bouchard on behalf of Rayner. After the failed attempt at the Dark's ritual, known as the "Extinguished Sun," on 20th March, 2015, Manuela remained in Ny-Ålesund to protect her dark sun, while the rest of the cult returned to Britain. She was unaware of Rayner and the cult’s downfall.
In June 2018, Manuela is tracked down by John and Basira. John takes Manuela’s statement and then destroys the dark sun, and Manuela flees. Helen arrives and informs John and Basira that she has captured Manuela in her corridors and intends on keeping her.
